How to Read the CarCostCanada Report & Save Money on a New Vehicle

Finding the best car deals in Canada is made easy with CarCostCanada. You choose your make and model, and we tell you how you can get the best deal, incentives, and which dealer can provide you with the best price. When reading your CarCostCanada Invoice Price Report, there is quite a bit of information that can get a bit overwhelming. So, we have broken it down for you.

How to Read the Invoice Price Report

The first thing that you will see when you get your Invoice Price Report is some information about the specific car you have chosen. You’ll see a picture to ensure it is the right make and model you selected and you will also see some product information, the types of warranty you can get, the fuel economy, and the vehicle codes.

Next, you’ll see the actual pricing report. This will compare the retail price (what the dealer asks you to pay) and dealer price (what the dealer has paid for the vehicle). You’ll see the base price (how much the car is worth), the freight cost (how much it cost to ship it to the dealer), the options that you choose, the tax, and the total price comparison.

Current Factory Incentive Programs are shown next. In this section, you will learn about the different rebates and incentives you are able to receive if you follow through with the purchase of the car. You’ll know how much they are valued at, and when they expire so you know when the best time to purchase is. You will also see different finance and lease rates; these will tell you the different rates you can get for the car, who is offering them, how long the terms is (in months), and again when the offers expire.

Lastly, you will find the section on CarCostCanada’s Recommended Dealer. This dealer will ensure that you take advantage of the rebates, incentives, and discounts that you’re entitled to save up to thousands of dollars on your vehicle purchase.

Here you will find the dealer’s name, the address where it is located, the city it is located, the phone number, the primary contact for the dealership, and your primary contact for CarCostCanada. Whether you are planning on financing, leasing, or paying cash, we recommend talking to both the CarCostCanada specialist and the dealer in order to get the best deal for your new car.

How To Get Your Dream Car at an Amazing Price

Vehicle research is an important aspect of buying a new car as this allows you to find out as much as you can about your potential purchase. While it can be a lengthy process, it worthwhile, especially if you are unsure of what type of vehicle you’re looking for or want to get a really good deal. Finding new cars for sale a great price is what we do best. Keep reading for the resources you should use and the steps you should take.

Create a Vehicle List

Before you can start researching anything, you’ll need to know exactly what you are researching. Just researching “cars” will provide you with much as there are hundreds of different cars out there to pick from, which means that you need to narrow it down. One of the best ways to start is to determine your car budget; there’s no point in researching a Lamborghini if you know you can’t afford it. Once you have your budget determined, you can start looking at makes and models.

When setting your budget, be sure to keep in mind insurance fees, gas, and possible maintenance along with your monthly loan fees. A general rule of thumb is to add on $500 for extra fees to determine what you can afford; remember, you may have to pay more or less, depending on your vehicle type and the deals that you get.

Shorten the List

Now that you have your budget, you can start determining what type of car you want based on your budget. This can be a lengthy process, especially if you’re not sure who you want to go with. The easiest thing to do is look at each vehicle that you’re interested in individually to see if they fit your expectations.

You’ll need to consider what size of vehicle you’re looking for, a number of seats and doors, and what you plan on using the vehicle for. For example, are you planning on driving kids around? If yes, a 2 seat Smart Car won’t be the vehicle for you. You can also use manufacturer websites to look at cars that you are interested in to get more information on the specific models.

Read Reviews

Like with any big purchase, reviews are a good way to make you feel confident in your decision. Vehicle reviews in magazines or online are a great way to find out accurate information, but in an easy to understand and consumer-friendly way. For instance, if you’re looking for a pickup truck for work, but are unsure of which to go with, reviews can help you decide based things like fuel efficiency, how much room you have to store your tools, how much weight the truck can pull, etc.

Use Specialized Pricing Sources

Once you’ve determined what car you want, you can start looking for the best deal on it. This can be a bit tricker than just doing a quick Google search; to find the best deal on the car you want, you’ll need to use specialized sources. At CarCostCanada, we provide you with a detailed breakdown of pricing for the vehicle you are interested in, with financing/leasing information, warranties, and both advertised and unadvertised incentives taken into account. Navigating Through New Vehicle Paperwork

You’ve done the research, spent hours checking out car comparisons in Canada, got the best deal on your new car, and now it’s time to dot the i’s and cross the t’s, so to speak. The paperwork is one of the most overlooked, and least enjoyable, parts of buying a new car. Even once you’ve reached an agreement on the price and figured out your monthly payments, there’s still more paperwork to fill out. You still need to get financing, register the car, get insurance, and sign the sales contract.

While it may seem simple and straightforward, it can be a lengthy process. So before you head over to the dealer to sign the paperwork for your new car, read this article and be thoroughly prepared.

What You Need to Bring

Driver’s license: You may need your driver’s license to confirm your identity for your method of payment. Also, if you’re planning to drive your car right off the lot, then you’ll need to show the dealer that you have a driver’s license first.

Insurance: Before you can drive the car off the lot, you will have to show the dealer that you have insurance because it is illegal to drive a car in Canada without it. As soon as you’ve determined the car you are buying, you should be calling your insurance company to set up the new insurance policy. If you are already have an account with an insurance company, you can call them from the dealership and give them your new vehicle identification number (VIN). Your insurance company can then fax or email your new insurance credentials to the dealer.

Payment: Different dealers will vary on the kinds of payments they accept, so it’s better to ask them before you go to sign the papers. If you are financing or leasing the car through the dealer you should bring a credit or debit card or a personal cheque to make the payment. If you are getting a loan from a financial institution, such as a bank, then you need bring a cheque to show the dealer that you have been approved for the loan.

Car Delivery

Once you have all of the paperwork and payments out of the way, the next thing you have to do is actually get the vehicle. May sound easy enough, but sometimes you have to wait for the dealer to deliver it to you if they don’t already have it on the lot. If the car is on the lot, the process takes roughly an hour, but it can take longer if they’re are a lot of other buyers picking up their cars on the same day. Weekends are a preferred time to go and pick up cars, so if you can finalize your deal on a weekday, it will likely be easier and faster for you.

When you see the vehicle during the pickup, be sure to give it a thorough inspect to ensure that it is in proper condition and contains all the features and equipment that were promised in the agreement. You should also look at the gas tank, as it should be full when you receive the car.
